TP-3.1 Separator Sheets
Separator sheets are materials used to separate
roofing system components, to prevent material incompatibility or
to prevent adhesion.
ARCA divides roof systems and materials into two classifications: low slope and steep slope. Low slope roofing includes water impermeable, or weatherproof, types of roof membranes installed on slopes less than or equal to 2:12. Steep slope roofing includes watershedding types of roof coverings installed on slopes exceeding 4:12.
There are three classifications of low slope roof membranes or systems.
BUR-2.1 Control Joints
Roofing control joints are required to prevent
structural movement or stresses within the roofing system from
damaging a Built-Up Roofing (BUR) membrane.
MB-2.1 Control Joints
Roofing control joints may be required to
prevent structural movement or stresses within the roofing system
from damaging a modified bituminous membrane.
Sheet metal flashings shall continuously cover
non-granular surfaced S.B.S. membrane flashing cap sheets installed
at horizontal to vertical roof junctions. Sheet metal flashings
shall be installed as soon as practical to protect the membrane
flashing from damage.
